The scene

In 2020, Red Velvet's unit IRENE & SEULGI used this former mine as a backdrop for Episode 1, “Naughty”, of their three-part music-video series, with the duo performing their dance in the cave's mysterious, dazzling tunnels. The shoot was supported by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, which also lined up Anyang Art Park and two other Gyeonggi spots for the series.

How to get there
From Seoul Station, take a KTX train to Gwangmyeong Station (about 17 min, around 60 trains a day). From Exit 8, take city bus 77 to its last stop, Gwangmyeong Cave (Parking Lot 1): about 10–15 min, every 20 min on weekdays and every 30 min on weekends (roughly 05:30–22:30). Or take Subway Line 7 to Cheolsan Station, leave by Exit 2, cross to the bus stop opposite 2001 Outlet and ride bus 17 to the same last stop; it's cheaper but slower, as it winds through town. From Sadang Station (Lines 2 and 4), bus 8507 from Exit 4 runs to KTX Gwangmyeong Station, where you can switch to bus 77. Allow about an hour from central Seoul.
Tip
Admission is 10,000 won for adults, 5,000 won for teens and 3,000 won for children and visitors 65 and over; tickets are sold on site and online. The cave is open 09:00–18:00 (last entry 17:00) and closed on Mondays, with slightly different hours in July and August. It stays at 12°C or below all year, so bring a jacket even in summer. For MV-style photos, head to the colorfully lit Light Space; along the route you'll also pass a wine cave and a giant dragon and Gollum figure tied to The Lord of the Rings. The tunnels were a mine until 1972 and later stored salted shrimp before reopening to visitors in 2011. Food and pets aren't allowed inside, and smoking is banned. Weekends get busy and parking fills up, so a weekday morning by bus is easiest. Seulgi's solo episode “Uncover” from the same series was filmed at Anyang Art Park in neighboring Anyang.
