The scene

Typhoon Family (tvN, 2025; also on Netflix) stars Lee Jun-ho as a young man trying to save his father's small trading company in Euljiro during Korea's 1997 financial crisis. The Seoul Facilities Corporation, which runs this underground arcade beneath Euljiro, says the drama filmed here. The exact stretch used has not been made public.

Show this to a taxi driver
How to get there
Take subway Line 2 to Euljiro 1-ga Station, or Line 2 or 3 to Euljiro 3-ga Station. The arcade is linked to these stations underground, so you can walk in without going up to the street. Follow the signs for the Euljiro underground shopping center (을지로 지하상가). The passage runs east under Euljiro toward Euljiro 4-ga and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park stations.
Bus
It is easiest by subway: the arcade connects underground to Euljiro 1-ga, Euljiro 3-ga, Euljiro 4-ga (Line 2) and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park (Lines 2, 4, 5) stations.
From Incheon Airport
Take the AREX All-Stop train from Incheon Airport to Hongik Univ. Station, then transfer to Line 2 eastbound to Euljiro 1-ga.
Hours
The 216 shops trade 09:00–22:00 and mostly close on Sundays and national holidays (a few open on holidays). The walkway stays open from 05:00 to 01:00 on weekdays and 05:00 to 24:00 on weekends and holidays.
Admission
Free. No dedicated parking is listed for the arcade; use public transport.
Tip
Walking through is free. Shops are open 09:00–22:00 and close on Sundays and national holidays, though some stay open. The passage itself is open 05:00–01:00 on weekdays and 05:00–midnight on weekends and holidays. For a clear shot of the long corridor, avoid weekday rush hours. The arcade has long been home to printing, advertising and promotional-goods shops. It is a busy commuter passage, so step to the side when you stop for photos, and ask before photographing shopkeepers or their stalls.
Plan your visit
Plan 30–60 minutes to walk the roughly 20,000 m² arcade from end to end; it is fully indoors, so it works on rainy or very hot and cold days. Visit on a weekday between 10:00 and 17:00 to see the shops open without the commuter crowds. The arcade is run by Seoul Facilities Corporation (tel. 02-2290-6903). At the eastern end you surface at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park, close to Dongdaemun Design Plaza.

Checked on October 22, 2026; confirm on the official site before you go.
