The scene

The 2026 hit film, which drew more than 16 million moviegoers in Korea, shot its tense government-office scene here, in which the exiled boy king Danjong (Park Ji-hoon) meets the powerful Han Myeong-hoe (Yoo Ji-tae). This hanok memorial compound also appears in the drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

How to get there
From Seoul Nambu Bus Terminal (Nambu Bus Terminal Station, Line 3), direct intercity buses reach Goryeong Intercity Bus Stop (고령시외버스정류장) in about 3 hours 20 minutes, but only twice a day (07:50 and 17:00; confirm times and book ahead). Buses back to Seoul leave Goryeong at 08:25 and 17:25 and take about 3 hours 50 minutes, so the morning bus makes a day trip possible. Or take the KTX from Seoul to Dongdaegu (about 1 hour 40 minutes), Daegu Metro Line 1 to Seobu Bus Terminal Station (서부정류장역), then an intercity bus from Daegu Seobu Bus Terminal to Goryeong (about 40 minutes, about 25 a day, 06:40–20:00); ask at the Goryeong stop about buses back to Daegu when you arrive. From the Goryeong stop, the site is about 4 km southwest, roughly a 10-minute taxi ride: show the driver 김면장군유적 or 칠등길 138. It's a rural spot, so ask your driver how to get a taxi back.
Tip
The grounds are open all year at any hour, admission is free and there is parking (Goryeong County Cultural Heritage Division: 054-950-6762). Past the main gate you'll reach Sangpyeongru, an open-sided pavilion, with Doam Seowon academy opposite; a signpost to the left leads to the general's memorial stone. The best photos come in summer, roughly July to September, when crape myrtles over 400 years old bloom deep pink, though timing varies by year. Reports don't name the exact building used in the film. This is a memorial to a militia general who died in the 1590s Japanese invasions, and his tomb is here, so keep your voice down and stay off the buildings. The UNESCO-listed Jisan-dong burial mounds, also in Goryeong, pair well with this stop.

Checked on November 6, 2026; confirm on the official site before you go.
