The scene

NewJeans shot the breezy seaside scenes of their 2024 music video “Bubble Gum” around this dark-sand cove below Sanbangsan Mountain on Jeju's southwest coast. Jeju's film agency had suggested two beaches to the crew and this one was chosen; the video passed 30 million YouTube views in its first two weeks.

How to get there
Fly from Gimpo Airport to Jeju (about 1 hr 10 min). From Jeju International Airport a taxi takes about 50 minutes. By bus, take route 251 or 251-1 from Jeju Bus Terminal toward Moseulpo (Unjinhang) and get off at the Sanbangsan (산방산) stop, about 1.5 hours; each route runs only every hour or two, so check times in Naver Map or KakaoMap. From the stop, walk 10–15 minutes east along Jeju Olle Trail 10. Search 황우치해변 or 산방로 141 (the ONE AND ONLY café sits right above the sand).
Bus
Trunk bus 202 (Jeju Bus Terminal – Seogwipo, via Sanbangsan) stops at Sanbangsan (stop 406000935) and Sagyeri Dongdong (406000932); only about every other 202 runs via Sagye, roughly every 40 minutes. VisitKorea's route from the airport is express bus 152 to Hwasun Transfer (Andeok Nonghyup), then bus 202 to Sagyeri Dongdong.
From Incheon Airport
Incheon has few domestic flights, so most visitors ride the AREX to Gimpo Airport and fly Gimpo–Jeju; then follow the bus 152 + 202 route above.
Hours
An open natural beach with no gates or closing time; safest to visit in daylight and at lower tide.
Admission
Free.
Tip
Free to visit. For the classic shot, stand on the sand with Sanbangsan rising behind you and the layered cliffs of Yongmeori Coast to your right; out to sea in the southwest are the twin Hyeongjeseom islets. Erosion has washed away much of the sand, so expect rocks: wear shoes with grip and keep away from the cliff base on windy days. The city cleaned paint graffiti off these cliffs in 2024, so please don't mark the rocks. Don't confuse it with Hwangwuji Coast (황우지해안) near Seogwipo city center, which is a different place.
Plan your visit
Allow 1–2 hours; the shore is a mix of coarse pebbles and black sand rather than soft sand. The beach is part of the Sanbangsan–Yongmeori geo-trail: Course C runs about 5.7 km (about 2 hours 30 minutes) from Sanbang Yeondae along Hwangwuchi Beach. Sanbanggulsa Temple and Yongmeori Coast are right next door, and the large Yongmeori/Sanbangsan car park is the easiest base for drivers.

Checked on October 16, 2026; confirm on the official site before you go.
