How to get there: From Seoul, take the KTX from Seoul Station (or the SRT from Suseo) to Gyeongju Station — the former Singyeongju Station, renamed in December 2023 (about 2 hr–2 hr 30 min). From there, a taxi to Oreung takes about 20 min. Or take an express bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal (Express Bus Terminal Station, Lines 3, 7 and 9) to Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal (about 3 hr 30 min); Oreung is about 2 km south, a 5-min taxi ride or 25–30-min walk. Local buses 505 and 506 stop at Oreung·Sungdeokjeon, but they run only a few times a day.
Tip: Open every day, 09:00–18:00 (Mar–Oct) and 09:00–17:00 (Nov–Feb). Adults 2,000 won; teens 1,000 won; children 500 won. For the drama-style shot, look for the low wall running through the pine grove — weekday mornings are the quietest. The site is beautiful with magnolias in spring and with fall colors from late October. This is a royal burial site with an ancestral shrine (Sungdeokjeon), so stay off the grassy mounds and keep your voice down. Hwangnidan-gil and the Daereungwon tombs are about a 20–25-min walk north.
